To whom it may concern:

I want to express a word of appreciation to the Kostaris Construction company who did a major renovation of our home in Bethesda, Maryland in 2008.  In conjunction with architect Dickson Carroll, Kostaris did the following work: Fashioned a beautiful addition adjacent to my wife’s home office which serves as a waiting room for her therapy patients. It’s an elegant wood-panelled space 11’ x 11’ with a 12 foot ceiling with skylight.  Large windows bringing in light provide views of sky and trees while artful landscaping gives privacy inside. Kostaris also transformed an old laundry room in the basement into an lovely art studio. By knocking out a basement wall and excavating a 5’ x 10’ space in the back garden they were able to construct a pop out with sky lights which brings daylight into the artist’s work area.  An imaginative Japanesque arbor now connects the main house to the detached work shop. The arbor supports a colorful trumpet vine and defines one end of our garden.

A new furnace, A/C unit, lower level bathroom, exterior painting and a generator were more prosaic additions but no less valuable to the overall upgrade to our 80 year-old house.

Now that we are moving to California to join our children and grandchildren and have to sell, we are so happy that we made these improvements nine years ago.  In turns out they have added thousands of dollars to the value of our home and when the sale is finished these Kostaris improvements will have more than paid for themselves.

Helping An Elderly Couple Stay In Their Home

Kostaris Construction was contacted by the Hornblowers, an elderly couple that wanted to stay in their own home rather than move to a nursing home.  We added on an addition with beautiful dormers and large windows.  The purpose of the addition was to house a nurse to provide care for the couple.  However, the Hornblowers loved the addition so much they decided to move into it and let the nurse have their existing home!

Expanded Home To Fit the Family

The Abell/Peppo family bought a home in Chevy Chase and decided to expand with in the first couple of years living there to fit their family’s needs.  Kostaris Construction built a two-story addition with a basement (for a total of 3 levels) which added 2,700 square feet to their existing home.  The family is now more comfortable with their added space.

Construction as Art

This upscale art gallery began as a 20×40 foot pool with a fence.  Kostaris Construction removed the pool and built this beautiful 35′ wide x 70′ long x 24′  high addition in it’s place, to house the private art collection.  The simplicity and beauty of the gallery allows the art to shine.

We Are Very Pleased,…

Kostaris Construction recently added a third floor master suite to our house and converted a screen porch to an enclosed den. We are very pleased with the results. The work was done on time, at a high level of quality and at a fair price. Angelo and his crew were very professional and accommodating. We recommend Kostaris Construction to you without any hesitation or reservation.

Results of the Highest Quality

This is my 5th home renovation project, and was the most extensive and complicated home renovation project that I have ever been involved in.  Because I was working with Angelo, this project was also the least troublesome project. Not only was everything done on time and on budget, but the results were of the highest quality.  Angelo is a trustworthy and reliable as the day is long.  He was committed to our project as if it was his own house.  We couldn’t be happier.

Exceptional craftsmanship
at a reasonable cost.

This is a five-level townhouse in downtown DC near Dupont Circle. We did construction on all five levels of this structure – but the majority was on the first-floor.  Several walls were taken down.  This room was cut into three different rooms before we opened it into a spacious area with custom cabinets and built-ins to bring it all together.

Three Projects

1. Screened-in porch
2. A kitchen-addition with a truly distinct custom ceiling
3. A basement remodel

Adding to the back of the house, we increased the size of the kitchen square footage which provided a great touch to the remodel. The screened-in porch is a particularly nice feature allowing the owners to enjoy a lovely evening without being pestered by bugs.
